Odessa International Cinema Festival to be held in our city on July 16 24


In the network of Odessa International Cinema Festival, retrospective show of Fellini’s movies and Odessa Cinema Studio’s best comedies will be held.
On July 16 – 24, 2010, Odessa International Cinema Festival will be taking place in our city.
In the network of the Festival, the following events will be held:
July 16 – red carpet ceremony and festive opening ceremony in Odessa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater;
July 17 – 24 – festival movies showing in Odessa’s movie houses;
July 24 – festive closing ceremony in Odessa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater.
Odessa International Movie Festival was created to support and develop Ukrainian cinema art and industry.
The festival program features:
-   international contest program including 16 full-length films with the elements of humor (each film has to be produced after January 1, 2009, and not yet shown in cinemas);
-   out-of-competition programs, retrospective showings of Frederico Fellini’s movies and Odessa Movie Studio’s best comedies, special showings dedicated to the respective jury and the guests of the Festival (including Jos Stelling, Renata Litvinova and Jean Pierre Jeunet);
-    Festival of festivals – premieres of the world hits, main movies of the last festival season;
-    summer movie school where the honorary guests of the Festival will carry out master classes and art meetings. On top of that, educational retrospective showings will be held and official programs of the Festival will be demonstrated.
The respective jury of the Festival is made up of the art and culture figures, famous cinema critics, directors and producers.
The winners of the Festival in each nomination will get prizes:
-         $ 3 000 in the “Best Movie” nomination;
-         $ 2 000 in the “Best Director” nomination;
-         $ 2 000 in the “Best Script” nomination;
-         $ 1 000 in the “Best Actor” nomination.
